| It's been a while since I've been on here but just to say that I passed my driving test just after xmas. I managed to aquire nine minors but when you pass you dont really care how many minors you've had! I'm still very nervous driving on my own and wonder if I'll ever be able to just jump in the car and drive away without feeling scared! Megann |

hey Megann that's great news, well done!
You obviously have the driving skills required to pass the driving test but the best way to gain more confidence is to build up your experiences of driving.
Why not look into taking the Pass Plus course, there's no test involved and is a great way to gain experience on the motorway, driving at night, rural roads etc with a professional instructor at your side! |

Or get a family member whos experienced to go with you. Free of charge, same results.
Dont worry. my sister passed her test a year ago. Shes a brilliant driver now.it all comes with experience. The more challeneges you give yourself, the better you will become.
Enjoy driving |

Congratulations, like others have said, either Pass Plus or just an extra lesson or 2 could help, or take a friend or a family member along for the first few drives.
Both really help with nerves, once you feel better do short drives in areas you know on your own.

Its been aggges since i passed now but i havent had chance to come on here for all the driving. i passed on the 29th june 2009 and drivin just never bores me! Gettin in a car after i passed my test wasnt at all scary and i felt i must have been ready to drive alone and unassisted.
Unfortuatly my car broke down two weeks ago as the engine leaked oil and it dried my engine up which has ceased it. costin a huge £840. its havin work done now so i hope i get my baby back soon xx |

Everybody feel nervous during the test time. Completing the course and simple practice is enough to pass the learners permit test. No need to worry about that. _________________ Drug and Alcohol test

Ways to get rid of nervousness!
Step 1
Think of a time, in the past, when you felt nervous about something. Something that was before you maybe did something you were nervous about. When you do, do you have a picture? Now the answer is yes right? Ok.
Step 2
Now,I know you can so just go ahead and see yourself in the picture, looking through your own eyes and see what you saw, hear what you heard and feel what you felt. Got it? Good.
Step 3
Now, go ahead and just step out of the picture, so you are looking at yourself in the picture but you are NOT in the picture. And ask yourself: Where are the emotions? You will now notice they are gone!
And this is the technique for empowering yourself when you are in a minor negative state you wish you weren't. Its easy and very effective. So use it with great effect!! _________________ Learner Insurance

Hi,
Congratulation for passing driving test
I can understand if you are driving 1st time you will feel some nervousness. But you can do one thing you can drive with your family member or a friend who has experience in driving so that he will help you to gain some confidence in driving. |
